Bona Intense Primer is the choice for a medium rich colour for your floor. It is very suitable for floors with underfloor heating and most species of wood, especially tropical woods. It is a water-based polyurethane primer for use under .
Application:
In preparation the surface to be treated needs to be sanded back to bare wood, dry and free from dust, oil, wax and any other potential surface contaminants. Gaps between floor boards and skirting boards can be treated with a and any splits up to 2mm in width can be filled with .
Allow the product to reach room temperature then apply using a roller, avoiding excess build up of product and maintaining a 'wet edge' to avoid overlaps. Be careful to apply a uniform level of primer across the surface to avoid colour variation, which can occur if one area has a higher level of saturation than another.
Once dry after 2-3 hours the surface can be de-nibbed if the grain has raised within P150 grit. Drying time will be extended in cooler temperatures and shortened in warmer conditions. The floor must be finished with 2 to 3 coats of one of Bona's floor lacquers. It is best to apply no more than two coats per day to minimise the risk of excessive wood swelling.
The optimum temperature range for using this product is between 18-25°C with 30-60% relative air humidity. It should not be used in temperatures below 13°C. When storing or transporting this product ensure that the temperature is between 5°C and 25°C.
